I am a retired professional driver and worked for 4 international corporations -- McDonnell Douglas, Rockwell, Emery Worldwide, and UPS. After volunteering for several years at Neighborhood Council events, I joined the Council in 2021, and I now serve on several Council committees, with specific emphasis on Special Events and Beautification, where I can most engage with the public outside the meeting room. In my capacity with the Council, I am called upon to arrange for and transport equipment and tools for Beautification Cleanups, Special Events like the Valentine's Dinner Dance and the Halloween Houses Event, and work behind the scenes at tabling events (Spring Fest at Shadow Ranch Park, Jesse Gabriel's Day of Service at Pierce College, Chatsworth Nature Preserve Event, and CD12's Movie Night at the Park). I also transport personnel to events and meetings, sometimes going to City Hall, Downtown L.A. and Van Nuys. I am on a cell-phone and first-name basis with LAPD and CD12, have been entrusted with keys to storage sheds with Council equipment, and also entrusted with and possess the Council Credit Card for needed purchases. I have received written commendations from stakeholders and other Board members praising my work and commitment to the Council and my neighborhood. After living here for 22 years, I still love living in West Hills, which is a bedroom community with a small-town vibe.
