Joan Trent
I have lived in the same home in West Hills for 40 years, been married for over 50 years, and have 2 daughters. At Santa Monica City College, I was in student government, elected Commissioner of Student Activities and earned my AA Degree. I earned my BA Degree at UCLA in English, and a secondary teaching credential. I earned a Master’s in Guidance and Counseling at Cal State University at Northridge. I worked as a high school English teacher and counselor for over 30 years at Santa Monica High School. I am now retired with time to work for my community.
I’ve been active in my community with the PTA and YMCA youth programs. I am currently active in the Y Service Club in the valley, and enrolled in classes at Pierce College. The environment is important to me, and I have enjoyed camping, water skiing, fishing, golfing, and traveling. I stay current and want to help empower West Hills’ residents.
