I have lived in the San Fernando Valley since 1973, when my father retired from the US Army, and we moved to Porter Ranch. I went to Frost JHS, Granada Hills HS, and CSUN. I earned a BA and a K-8 Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from CSUN. After teaching grades 2 – 4 for LAUSD in East and South LA, I sold middle school and high school textbooks for 25 years. I am now semi-retired and back working for LAUSD as a Special Ed Assistant at Pomelo Community Charter.
I have been married for almost 40 years to my wonderful husband, whom I met at Northridge Skateland. Our family also consists of our son, niece, and nephew. (now all adults). We moved to West Hills in 1995, after the Northridge Earthquake yellow-tagged our Chatsworth townhouse. We discovered West Hills’ neighborhoods of single-family homes with friendly neighbors to be just right for us.
I have been involved with West Hills Neighborhood Council since 2021, when I volunteered for the Education Committee. I became a full member of the Council in 2024, after being selected to fill an open position. I have learned so much about how our city government functions from the people downtown, to the level of our neighborhoods, while being involved with our local council.
